Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Getting your Alienware AW2725D up and running is straightforward, and proper care ensures its longevity.
Setup
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove the monitor, stand components, and cables from the packaging.
- Assemble Stand: Attach the stand base to the stand column, then connect the assembled stand to the back of the monitor. Ensure all screws are tightened securely. 
- Connect Power: Plug the power cable into the monitor's power input and then into a wall outlet or power strip.
- Connect Video Cable: Connect a DisplayPort cable (recommended for 280Hz) or HDMI cable from your computer's graphics card to the corresponding input on the monitor. Make sure connections are firm.
- Power On: Press the power button on the monitor. Select the correct input source using the monitor's On-Screen Display (OSD) menu. You may need to adjust your operating system's display settings to achieve the QHD resolution and 280Hz refresh rate.
Compatibility
- PCs: Compatible with PCs via DisplayPort or HDMI. To achieve 280Hz at QHD, ensure your graphics card supports DisplayPort 1.4 or higher and the necessary bandwidth.
- Gaming Consoles: Compatible with modern gaming consoles via HDMI. Note that consoles may have limitations on QHD resolution and high refresh rates; check your console's specifications.
- Mounting: Info needed: VESA mounting compatibility and screw size details. Typically Alienware monitors support VESA 100x100mm mounting, but verify with the product manual.
Care
- Screen Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to gently wipe the screen. For stubborn smudges, lightly dampen the cloth with water; do not spray cleaning solutions directly onto the screen. Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol-based cleaners, or abrasive materials.
- Dusting: Regularly dust the monitor's casing and vents to prevent buildup, which can affect cooling.
- Preventing Static Images: As an OLED display, it's good practice to vary screen content and utilize features like pixel shifting or screen savers to prevent static image retention over prolonged periods, though modern QD-OLEDs have advanced mitigation techniques.
