Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Mounting: Securely attach the Rear Window Camera to your rear window, typically inside, ensuring a clear view. Many users prefer mounting it centrally at the top of the rear window for optimal coverage.
- Connection: Connect the provided cable from the Rear Window Camera into the designated port on your compatible Nextbase front dash cam.
- Power On: Once connected, the rear camera will power on automatically with your front dash cam.
- Positioning Check: Review the live feed on your front dash cam's screen to ensure the rear camera is aligned correctly and capturing the desired view. Adjust as necessary.
Compatibility
This Rear Window Camera is designed for seamless integration with specific Nextbase dash cam models. It is fully compatible and recommended for use with the Nextbase 422GW and 522GW front dash cams. While it may physically connect to other Nextbase models, optimal performance and Full HD recording are guaranteed with the specified compatible models.
Care
- Lens Cleaning: Regularly clean the camera lens with a soft, dry, or slightly damp microfiber cloth to ensure clear footage. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Cable Management: Ensure the connection cable is routed neatly and securely, avoiding interference with airbags or other vehicle components. Use cable clips if necessary.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures for extended periods, as this can affect battery life (if applicable to main unit) and component longevity.
- Firmware Updates: Keep your main Nextbase dash cam's firmware updated, as this can often improve compatibility and performance for connected accessories like the rear camera.
