Product Information

Full details

The HOMCOM Room Divider is an ideal solution for those living in studio apartments, shared dorms, or open-plan homes who need to create distinct functional zones without permanent construction. This three-panel screen offers the perfect balance of privacy and natural illumination through its light-diffusing rice paper panels, though users should be mindful that it is a lightweight decorative partition rather than a soundproof wall.

FAQs

Does this divider require any assembly?

No, the unit arrives fully assembled and ready to use.

Can I use this outdoors?

This product is designed for indoor use only. The rice paper is not weather-resistant.

How do I store the divider when not in use?

Simply fold the three panels flat against each other. The compact size allows it to fit easily into a closet or behind a piece of furniture.

Can the panels be detached to make a smaller screen?

The panels are connected by permanent hinges and are not intended to be detached or reconfigured by the user.

Is the material fire-resistant?

The materials are standard for residential furniture and are not fireproof; please keep the divider away from open flames or high-heat sources.

Troubleshooting

The screen does not stand upright steadily.

Adjust the angle of the panels; creating a 'zig-zag' or 'L-shape' with the folds increases structural stability significantly.

The rice paper has a small wrinkle or dent.

Small imperfections are common with natural paper screens; avoid using high heat or water to smooth them out, as this can degrade the fiber.

Hinges feel stiff.

Gently work the hinges back and forth several times. You may apply a tiny amount of silicone-based lubricant to the pin if necessary.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Arrives fully assembled
  • Provides visual privacy while letting light pass through
  • Easy to fold and store in tight spaces
  • Elegant aesthetic suits most interior styles
  • Extremely lightweight and portable

Cons

  • Not intended for sound insulation
  • Rice paper material is delicate and prone to tearing
  • May tip over if hit with significant force
  • Fixed height of 170cm may not cover tall ceiling gaps

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Because the divider comes fully assembled, setup simply involves unfolding the panels to your desired width and placement. It is compatible with most standard residential flooring, including hardwood, tile, and low-pile carpet. To care for your HOMCOM divider, dust the wooden frame regularly with a dry cloth. For the rice paper panels, use a soft, dry duster or a very light vacuum attachment; avoid using water or chemical cleaners, as these will damage the paper and cause it to warp or discolor.
