The Garland Kitchen Compost Caddy is an ideal solution for eco-conscious households looking to manage organic waste hygienically on their countertops. It is perfectly suited for small to medium kitchens, offering a 5-litre capacity that makes collecting vegetable peels and fruit scraps effortless. While its integrated carbon filter excels at neutralizing odours, users should be aware that regular maintenance, including emptying the bin every few days and periodic filter replacements, is necessary to keep the unit effective.

For best results and to prevent odours, empty the caddy every 2 to 3 days.
You should replace the integrated carbon filter every 3 to 4 months.
It is recommended to wash the caddy by hand with warm, soapy water to maintain its longevity.
It is best used for vegetable peelings, fruit scraps, and tea bags. Avoid meat, dairy, and oils to prevent rapid decomposition and unwanted odours.
The unit includes the initial filter; replacement filters are typically sold separately.
The carbon filter is likely exhausted; replace it with a fresh filter and ensure the lid seals properly.
Empty the contents into your outdoor compost heap immediately and ensure the rim of the lid is clean and clear of food debris.
Soak the caddy in a solution of warm water and mild dish soap to lift stubborn organic stains.
Setting up your Garland Compost Caddy is straightforward. Simply ensure the carbon filter is securely seated inside the lid compartment. No tools are required. For care, hand wash the interior of the caddy with warm, soapy water after every cycle to prevent residue build-up. While the exterior can be wiped down with a damp cloth, avoid abrasive scrubbers that might scratch the finish. To ensure the odour-trapping capabilities remain at peak performance, schedule a filter replacement every 3 to 4 months. If you notice any persistent smells, it is likely time to swap the old filter for a new one.
