Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting started with your Ariete Vintage Filter Coffee Machine is straightforward, and proper care will ensure its longevity and performance.
Initial Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and place the coffee machine on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface.
- First Clean: Before first use, wash the carafe, lid, and filter holder with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Run at least two full carafe cycles using only water (no coffee grounds) to flush out any manufacturing residue.
- Positioning: Ensure the machine is placed near an electrical outlet and has adequate ventilation.
Compatibility
- Coffee Type: This machine is designed for use with ground coffee. Do not use whole coffee beans, as this machine does not have a grinder.
- Filters: It typically uses a permanent, washable filter holder. If you prefer, you can also use standard paper cone filters (size #4 usually, > Info needed: confirm specific filter size).
Product Care & Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for taste and longevity.
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, remove and wash the filter holder and carafe. Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits can build up, affecting performance. Descale your machine every 1-3 months, depending on your water hardness and usage frequency.
- Mix a descaling solution (or white vinegar and water, 1:2 ratio).
- Fill the water reservoir and run a brew cycle (without coffee).
- Run several cycles with plain water to rinse thoroughly.
- Storage: If storing for an extended period, ensure the machine is clean, dry, and unplugged.
