FAQs

What is GORE-TEX?

GORE-TEX is a waterproof, windproof, and breathable fabric designed to keep you dry and comfortable in various weather conditions. It features a membrane with tiny pores that are too small for water droplets to pass through but large enough for water vapor to escape.

Is the hood adjustable?

Yes, the hood is fully adjustable and features a high face guard to protect against wind and rain.

Can I use any fleece with this jacket?

No, you must use a compatible Berghaus fleece with the 3-in-1 InterActive (IA) system.

How do I wash the jacket?

Machine wash in warm water (30°C/86°F) with a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softeners or bleach. Tumble dry on low heat or hang to dry.

What if the jacket gets a tear?

Small tears can often be repaired with a patch or by a professional outdoor gear repair service.

What is the warranty?

Please refer to the Berghaus warranty information for details on the jacket's coverage.

How do I maintain the waterproof performance?

Wash the jacket regularly and re-proof it with a DWR treatment when the water starts to bead less effectively on the surface.

What is the 3-in-1 system?

The 3-in-1 system allows you to zip a compatible Berghaus fleece into the jacket for added warmth and versatility.

Troubleshooting

Water is penetrating the jacket.

Check if the jacket needs re-proofing. Wash and tumble dry the jacket according to the care instructions. If the problem persists, the GORE-TEX membrane may be damaged, and professional repair may be required.

The jacket feels clammy or less breathable.

Clean the jacket according to care instructions to remove dirt and oils that can reduce breathability.

Zippers are sticking.

Lubricate the zippers with a zipper lubricant or a silicone spray. Ensure no dirt or debris is lodged in the zipper teeth.
