The Korsteel Stainless Steel French Link Eggbutt Snaffle is a gentle, comfortable, three-piece snaffle bit. The cheeks of the Eggbutt do not create any extra poll pressure, and the French Link mouthpiece is a good choice if your horse does not like single-jointed bits, as it prevents the nutcracker action which can hit the roof of the mouth and pinch the tongue. This bit sits more still in your horse's mouth, which is ideal for horses that are unsure of the bit or struggle to maintain a consistent contact. The Eggbutt provides more stability in the mouth, which is useful for young horses. Made from popular stainless steel, it is durable, easy to clean, tasteless, and does not rust. The French Link Eggbutt Snaffle from Korsteel is very different from a Dr Bristol snaffle. Whilst the extra joint in the centre reduces the nutcracker action commonly associated with single joint bits, the shape and the angle of the central plate creates far less pressure on the tongue than a Dr Bristol. The Eggbutt cheeks do not create any extra poll pressure, and the French link mouthpiece is a good choice for horses who do not like the single-jointed snaffles. The eggbutt cheeks keep the bit stiller in the horse's mouth than a loose ring snaffle, so this bit is more suited to horses who struggle to maintain a consistent contact, such as young horses or those with sensitive mouths. This bit is dressage legal. The fixed, oval-shaped rings on the eggbutt snaffle provide a reliable touch. French link is used by horses with less palate clearance because it gives independent control over both sides of the mouth. Available in 4.5", 5", 5.5", or 6".
