Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Upon first wear, fully unlace the shoes, insert your foot, and then re-lace them, ensuring a snug but comfortable fit. Adjust the laces to prevent pressure points while securing your foot.
- Break-In: While designed for comfort, new leather shoes may benefit from a short break-in period. Wear them for shorter durations initially to allow the leather to conform to your foot.
Compatibility
The Spypath Lo GTX is designed for adult males and is compatible with a wide range of casual and semi-casual attire. Its weather-resistant features make it suitable for various environments, from urban settings to light hiking trails, especially in wet or cold conditions.
Product Care
Consistent care will maintain the performance and appearance of your Spypath Lo GTX shoes.
- Cleaning the Leather: Regularly wipe off dirt and dust with a soft, damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a dedicated leather cleaner, following the product's instructions. Allow the shoes to air dry naturally away from direct heat.
- Conditioning: To prevent the leather from drying out and cracking, apply a quality leather conditioner every few months or as needed. This helps keep the leather supple and maintains its natural luster.
- GORE-TEX Maintenance: The GORE-TEX membrane is integrated into the shoe's construction. To maintain its breathability and waterproofing, keep the outer leather clean. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the membrane.
- Drying: If the shoes get wet, remove any excess moisture with a towel and stuff them with newspaper to absorb internal dampness. Allow them to air dry at room temperature; never use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as this can damage the leather.
- Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
