Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Placement: Choose a location for the pump that is accessible for maintenance and protected from extreme weather. Decide whether you are going to install the pump dry (in a gravity-fed system) or submersed.
- Connections: Connect the pump to the pond's plumbing, ensuring all connections are watertight. The inlet and outlet size is 1.5".
- Control Box: Place the control box in a dry, protected area within reach of the pump's cable (2 meters) and the power supply (10 meters).
- Power: Connect the power supply to a suitable electrical outlet.
- Start-up: Turn on the pump and adjust the flow rate using the digital display.
Compatibility
The Evolution Aqua VariPump 10000 is compatible with most pond systems. Ensure that the pump's specifications match your pond's requirements in terms of flow rate, head height, and power. The pump is designed for use in freshwater ponds. The pump can be used with various filtration systems.
Care
- Regular Cleaning: Inspect and clean the pump regularly to remove debris that can restrict water flow. The protective cage is designed to prevent large debris from entering, but smaller particles can still accumulate.
- Winterization: If you live in a climate with freezing temperatures, protect the pump from freezing. In some cases, it's recommended to remove the pump from the pond during winter and store it indoors.
- Cable Inspection: Check the power cable regularly for any signs of damage. Any damaged cable must be replaced immediately.
