FAQs

Does this include the metal awning frame?

No, this is a replacement valance fabric only and does not include the frame, arms, or mounting hardware.

Is this fabric waterproof?

The material is designed for outdoor use and provides excellent shade, though it should not be considered a fully waterproof shelter for heavy downpours.

How do I know if this fits my awning?

This valance is designed for specific vidaXL models. Please verify your awning's model number or MPN against the product specifications before purchase.

Can I use this on a non-vidaXL awning?

Compatibility with non-vidaXL brands is not guaranteed, as track sizes and attachment methods vary significantly between manufacturers.

What is the best way to store the valance during winter?

If you live in an area with harsh winters, it is recommended to keep the awning retracted and, if possible, protect it with an awning cover to keep the valance clean and dry.

Troubleshooting

Valance is difficult to slide into the track

Ensure the track is clear of debris or rust; applying a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the track can help the fabric glide more easily.

Fabric appears wrinkled after installation

The fabric will typically relax and smooth out after being exposed to sunlight and tension for a few days.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Refreshes the look of older retractable awnings
Neutral beige color complements most exterior designs
Provides added shade from low-angle sunlight
High-quality material designed for outdoor durability

Cons

Compatible only with specific vidaXL awning models
Does not include the full awning frame or mounting hardware
May show dirt more easily due to the light beige color

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation of the valance is straightforward, typically involving sliding the fabric through the dedicated channel on the leading edge of your retractable awning frame. Before installation, ensure the awning is fully extended and secured.

Compatibility: This unit is designed for vidaXL retractable awnings. We recommend checking the MPN (42000757) against your original owner's manual to ensure a precise fit for your specific frame width and track size.

Care Instructions: To maintain the fabric, clean periodically using a soft brush and a mild, soapy water solution. Avoid using high-pressure power washers, as they can damage the fabric weave and water-resistant coating. Always allow the valance to air dry completely before retracting the awning to prevent mold or mildew growth.
