Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
To begin using your Ray-Ban New Wayfarer RB2132 sunglasses, simply unfold them and place them on your face. Ensure the nose bridge rests comfortably without pinching and that the temples extend securely behind your ears without excessive pressure. The 52mm lens width and 18mm bridge width are designed for a balanced fit, but individual comfort can vary. If they feel too loose or too tight, a professional optician may be able to make minor adjustments to the temple arms for a customized fit.
Compatibility
The New Wayfarer's defining characteristic is its softer eye shape and slightly smaller profile compared to the Original Wayfarer. This makes the RB2132 model exceptionally versatile and compatible with a broader array of face shapes, including oval, round, square, and heart-shaped faces. This design was specifically created to offer a universally flattering option for those who appreciate the Wayfarer style but seek a less angular or dramatic look.
Care
Proper care is essential to maintain the longevity and pristine condition of your sunglasses:
- Cleaning: Always clean your lenses with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth, ideally the one provided by Ray-Ban. For more thorough cleaning, use a specialized lens cleaning spray or lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap. Gently rub the lenses and frame, then rinse thoroughly and dry with the microfiber cloth. Avoid using paper towels, clothing, or harsh chemicals, as these can scratch the lenses or damage coatings.
- Storage: When not in use, always store your sunglasses in their original protective case. This prevents dust accumulation, scratches, and accidental damage from impacts or pressure. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight for prolonged periods, especially in hot environments like a car dashboard, as extreme heat can warp the frame.
- Handling: Always use both hands to put on and take off your sunglasses to avoid stretching the frame or loosening the hinges over time. Periodically check the hinge screws and gently tighten them with a small eyewear screwdriver if they become loose.
