Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Nike Phantom Luna II Academy FG MG boots is straightforward:
- Unpack: Remove the boots from their packaging.
- Lace Up: Loosen the laces sufficiently.
- Put On: Utilize the heel pull tab to easily slide your foot into the boot. The soft, stretchy collar will conform to your ankle.
- Adjust Fit: Ensure your heel is seated comfortably in the asymmetric heel and the stabilising heel counter provides support. Tighten the laces for a snug, secure fit without being too restrictive.
Compatibility
These boots are MultiGround (FG/MG), making them suitable for:
- Firm Natural Grass (FG): Traditional outdoor pitches.
- Artificial Grass (MG): Modern synthetic turf fields.
They are kids' boots (specifically UK Size 1) and are designed for young athletes. Ensure the size and fit are appropriate for the wearer to prevent discomfort or injury.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Clean After Each Use: After playing, brush off loose dirt and grass. Use a damp cloth to wipe down the upper and soleplate. For stubborn dirt, a soft brush and mild soap can be used.
- Remove Insole: If possible, remove insoles after play to allow them and the inside of the boot to air out.
- Air Dry: Always air dry your boots at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Stuff with Newspaper: To help maintain shape and absorb excess moisture, stuff the boots with newspaper while drying.
- Store Properly: Store boots in a cool, dry place. A boot bag can protect them during transport.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Do not machine wash or tumble dry your football boots, as this can severely damage them.
- Check Studs: Regularly inspect the studs for wear and tear, especially if playing on abrasive artificial surfaces.
