Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and old sealant. For best adhesion, surfaces should be sound.
- Application: Apply using a standard sealant gun. Cut the nozzle at an angle to achieve the desired bead size. Apply a continuous bead of sealant, ensuring good contact with both surfaces.
- Finishing: Smooth the bead immediately after application using a wet finger, spatula, or smoothing tool. Remove excess sealant promptly.
Compatibility:
This sealant offers excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates including glass, ceramic tiles, aluminum, painted surfaces, and many plastics. It is designed for use in sanitary applications. Avoid contact with certain metals like copper or brass in its uncured state. Test on a small, inconspicuous area if unsure about substrate compatibility.
Care:
- Cleaning: Clean application tools and any excess sealant immediately after use with a damp cloth or appropriate solvent (refer to product packaging for specific recommendations if available). Once cured, sealant can be difficult to remove.
- Maintenance: The cured sealant can be cleaned with mild household detergents. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surface or the sealant.
- Re-application: If the sealant becomes damaged or degraded over time, it should be removed and re-applied following the setup instructions.
