Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Before your first wear, loosen the laces completely. Insert your foot, ensuring your heel is comfortably seated at the back.
- Adjusting Fit: Begin tightening the laces from the toes upwards, ensuring an even, snug fit without being too tight. Tie a secure knot or bow.
- Initial Wear: Wear the shoes for shorter periods initially to allow the leather to naturally conform to your foot shape.
Compatibility
- Orthotics: The ECCO Soft 2.0 features removable insoles, making it highly compatible with most custom orthotic inserts. Simply remove the existing insole and replace it with your prescribed orthotics for personalized arch support and cushioning.
- Foot Shape: Its accommodating shape and adjustable laces make it suitable for a wide range of foot types, including those requiring a more generous fit.
Care
Maintaining your ECCO Soft 2.0 shoes will prolong their life and appearance. As they are made from leather with leather linings, specific care is essential:
- Cleaning: Gently wipe off dirt and dust with a soft, damp cloth. For tougher stains, use a dedicated leather cleaner according to its instructions.
- Conditioning: Regularly apply a good quality leather conditioner to keep the leather soft, supple, and to prevent cracking. This is especially important if the shoes get wet or are exposed to dry conditions.
- Drying: If the shoes become wet, allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight), which can damage the leather.
- Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Protection: Consider applying a leather protector spray to guard against water and stains, particularly before initial wear and periodically thereafter.
