Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your VonHaus Fire Pit is straightforward. Simply unpack the unit and place it on a flat, stable, non-flammable surface in your garden or patio. Ensure there's adequate clearance from any walls, fences, or overhanging structures. No assembly is required.
Compatibility
- Fuel: This fire pit is compatible with both `wood` and `charcoal`. Use dry wood to minimize smoke and maximize heat output.
- Location: Suitable for use on concrete, paving slabs, or gravel surfaces. Crucially, it is not compatible with wooden decking, artificial grass, or any other flammable surfaces. Always ensure good ventilation.
- Accessories: While a fire poker and mesh lid are included, a round fire pit cover (model 2500120) is recommended and sold separately to protect the unit when not in use.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your fire pit:
- Cleaning: After each use, once the fire pit has completely cooled, remove ash and debris. The steel material is easy to clean; use a damp cloth to wipe down surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Weather Protection: To prevent rust and maintain its finish, it is recommended to keep the fire pit out of the rain when not in use. Investing in a protective cover is highly advised for long-term outdoor storage.
- Storage: For extended periods of disuse, especially during harsh weather, store the fire pit in a dry, covered area.
