Setup, Compatibility & Care
For the best results, plant your Veronica Spicata in a location that receives full sun for the majority of the day. Ensure the soil is fertile and, most importantly, free-draining; heavy clay soils may need to be amended with grit or organic matter before planting. Space the pots approximately 30-45 cm apart to allow for proper air circulation. Water regularly during the first growing season until established. Once mature, the plant is relatively drought-tolerant but will produce more flowers if provided with consistent moisture. Deadhead spent spikes by cutting them back to the next set of leaves to encourage the plant to divert energy into new blooms rather than seed production.
