Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Unlace the shoes sufficiently to easily slide your foot in.
- Fit: Ensure your heel is comfortably seated and there's about a thumb's width space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe.
- Tighten: Lace them up, starting from the bottom eyelets, pulling evenly to achieve a snug but not overly tight fit. Double-knot for added security if preferred.
Compatibility
The Torhill Hi's versatile design makes it compatible with a range of casual and smart-casual wardrobes.
- Apparel: Pairs well with denim jeans, corduroys, chinos, and relaxed-fit trousers.
- Occasions: Ideal for daily errands, weekend outings, casual office environments (if appropriate), and social gatherings.
Care for Suede
Maintaining the premium suede is crucial for the longevity and appearance of your Torhill Hi shoes.
- Protection: Before first wear, apply a high-quality suede protector spray to guard against water and stains. Reapply periodically as per product instructions.
- Cleaning:
- For dry dirt and dust, use a suede brush (often a wire or crepe brush) to gently brush in one direction to lift dirt and restore the nap.
- For tougher spots, use a suede eraser to rub away marks.
- For wet stains, allow the suede to dry naturally first, then proceed with brushing. For deeper stains, a specialized suede cleaner may be required. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Drying: If shoes get wet, stuff them with paper to absorb moisture and maintain their shape, then let them air dry away from direct heat sources (like radiators or sunlight).
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Shoe trees can help maintain shape and absorb moisture.
