Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting Started
- First Fit: Ensure the shoes fit correctly. Have your child try them on with their usual school socks. Check for adequate toe room (about a thumb's width) and that the heel doesn't slip out.
- Adjusting the Strap: Fasten the strap snugly but not too tightly. It should secure the foot without causing pressure points.
Compatibility
- Sizing: These shoes are a UK Infant Size 10. Always refer to a Kickers or general children's shoe size guide to ensure the best fit for your child's foot length and width. Foot growth in infants can be rapid, so periodic size checks are recommended.
- School Uniforms: The black leather design is generally compatible with most school uniform policies requiring black footwear.
Care & Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and appearance of your Kickers Scuff Lo leather shoes:
- Daily Cleaning: Wipe down the shoes with a damp cloth after each wear to remove surface dirt and dust.
- Polishing: Regularly polish the leather with a black shoe polish. This helps to nourish the leather, restore its shine, and cover minor scuffs. Apply a small amount with a cloth, let it dry, then buff to a shine.
- Drying: If the shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper and allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators, as this can crack and damage the leather.
- Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Scuff Marks: For deeper scuffs, a specialized leather restorer or polish specifically for scuff repair might be needed after initial cleaning.
