Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting Started (Setup)
- Lacing: Ensure proper lacing for a secure, comfortable fit. Experiment with different lacing techniques if you experience pressure points or heel slip.
- Break-in Period: While HOKA shoes are often comfortable out of the box, allow a few short runs for your feet to fully adapt to the shoe's cushioning and support system.
Compatibility
- Running Surface: The HOKA Bondi 9 is primarily designed for road running, paved paths, and treadmills. Its robust cushioning and traction are optimized for these surfaces.
- Activity: Ideal for daily training, long-distance running, recovery runs, and walking. Not recommended for highly technical trails or speed workouts requiring minimal footwear.
- Foot Type: Generally suitable for neutral to mildly pronating foot types, benefiting from the inherent stability of the Active Foot Frame.
Product Care
To ensure the longevity and performance of your HOKA Bondi 9 shoes, follow these care guidelines:
- Cleaning: Gently brush off loose dirt using a soft brush. For the `textile and synthetic upper`, use a mild soap (like dish soap) mixed with cold water and a soft cloth or sponge to wipe down soiled areas. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow your shoes to air dry completely at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, as excessive heat can damage materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Avoid storing them in damp environments, which can promote odor or mildew.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, remove insoles and allow both insoles and shoes to air out. You can also use shoe deodorizers or sprinkle baking soda inside the shoes (remove before wearing).
