Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper setup and care will ensure your OHS Bouclé Curtains look their best and last for years.
Installation
The OHS Bouclé Curtains are available in two heading styles: Eyelet and Pencil Pleat. You will select one of these styles when purchasing.
- Slide the metal eyelets directly onto a curtain pole.
- Ensure the pole is securely mounted above your window.
- Space the eyelets evenly for a neat, wavy drape.

- These curtains have a heading tape with cords on the back.
- Pull the cords gently and evenly from one end to gather the fabric until the desired width is achieved. Secure the cords by tying them off.
- Attach curtain hooks (often sold separately) to the gathered heading tape.
- Hang the hooks onto rings on a curtain pole or runners on a curtain track.

Compatibility
- Curtain Poles: Both Eyelet and Pencil Pleat curtains are compatible with standard curtain poles. Ensure the pole diameter is appropriate for the eyelets or curtain rings.
- Curtain Tracks: Pencil Pleat curtains can be used with curtain tracks by attaching hooks to runners. Eyelet curtains are generally not suitable for tracks.
- Window Size: Measure your window width and drop carefully to select the correct curtain size for adequate coverage and aesthetic appeal. Ideally, curtains should extend beyond the window frame on both sides and below the sill.
Care Instructions
To maintain the quality and appearance of your bouclé curtains:
- Cleaning: Due to the unique bouclé texture and blackout coating, professional cleaning is often recommended to preserve the fabric's integrity and coating.
- Spot Cleaning: For small marks, gently blot with a clean, damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid rubbing vigorously, which could damage the texture.
- Dusting: Regularly dust with a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner or a lint roller to prevent dust buildup in the looped yarn.
- Ironing: If necessary, iron on a low heat setting on the reverse side (non-coated side) to avoid damaging the blackout coating. Use a pressing cloth if possible.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use bleach or strong chemical cleaners as they can degrade the fabric and blackout layer.
- Storage: When not in use, store curtains in a cool, dry place, folded neatly or rolled to prevent creasing.
