While it is designed to be compatible with other 110mm drainage and soil pipes manufactured to BS EN 1329-1:2000, it is always recommended to use fittings from the same manufacturer or ensure strict adherence to the standard for optimal joint performance.

Push-fit joints utilize a rubber seal for a quick, secure connection that can often be dismantled. Solvent weld joints create a permanent, fused bond between the pipe and fitting using a chemical solvent, resulting in a very strong and rigid connection.

Regular flushing with warm water is recommended. For external cleaning, a damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the PVC-U.

The PVC-U material is robust, but specific considerations for underground installation (e.g., bedding, support, and protection from ground movement) should be followed according to plumbing best practices and local building regulations.

Soil systems like OsmaSoil are designed for gravity drainage and are not pressure-rated. They operate under atmospheric pressure conditions.

For push-fit installations, a pipe cutter and silicone lubricant are typically sufficient. For solvent weld joints, a pipe cutter, PVC cleaner, PVC solvent cement, and a clean cloth are required.

Ensure the pipe is fully inserted into the socket and the seal is properly seated. Check for any debris or damage on the pipe end or seal. Re-lubricate and re-insert if necessary. Ensure the pipe is cut square.

Verify that both the pipe and fitting were properly cleaned with PVC cleaner and that the correct type and amount of solvent cement were applied. Ensure the joint was held securely during the initial set time and that adequate curing time has passed.

Ensure the pipe end is de-burred and clean. Use a silicone-based lubricant specifically designed for pipe seals. Do not force the pipe; if resistance is significant, check for obstructions or damage.

Check for blockages downstream in the system. Ensure all connections are correctly made and that there are no obstructions within the bend itself. Regular flushing can prevent build-up.
