Combi-cut products have partially cut perforations, providing flexibility to be used between joists at either 400mm or 600mm centres, or used unsplit as a full-width roll. This insulation is primarily for the thermal insulation of pitched roofs at ceiling level, but can also be used to thermally insulate floors. It is certified A1 non-combustible, offering the highest level of fire performance. The rolls are soft to touch and easier to handle, making it a perfect solution for insulating a cold loft at ceiling level. Knauf Loft Roll Insulation 150mm has a thermal conductivity value of 0.044 W/mK, and comes in 1140mm wide rolls with perforations at 570mm and 380mm centres, allowing it to fit easily between roof rafters or floor joists.

FAQs
What is the R-value of this insulation?
The R-value will depend on the thickness of the insulation installed. Please check the product specifications for the exact R-value.
Is this insulation suitable for DIY installation?
Yes, it is designed for ease of installation. However, ensure you follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective gear.
What safety equipment is required?
It is recommended to wear gloves, a dust mask, and eye protection during installation.
Can this insulation be used in walls?
While primarily designed for lofts and floors, it's essential to check local building codes for wall applications.
How do I calculate how much insulation I need?
Measure the area to be insulated (length x width) and divide by the coverage area of a single roll. Consider any gaps and waste to order a suitable amount.
How long will the insulation last?
With proper installation and care, this insulation should last for the life of the building.
What is ECOSE Technology?
ECOSE Technology is a binder technology used in the manufacturing of Knauf Insulation, making it soft to the touch and easier to handle.
Troubleshooting
Difficulty cutting the insulation.
Use a sharp knife and a straight edge for precise cuts.
Insulation doesn't fit properly.
Double-check measurements and adjust cutting as needed. Ensure the insulation isn't compressed.
Air gaps remain after installation.
Carefully seal any gaps around the edges of the insulation to prevent heat loss.
Pros and Cons
Pros
High fire safety due to non-combustible properties.
Easy to handle and install, thanks to the soft-touch ECOSE Technology.
Flexible installation options with combi-cut perforations.
Effective thermal insulation, improving energy efficiency.
Suitable for various applications, including lofts and floors.
Cons
Requires careful measurement and cutting to fit precisely.
Performance depends on proper installation, including sealing gaps.
May require protective gear during installation to avoid irritation.
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Preparation: Ensure the loft space is clear of debris and that the joists are accessible.
Measurement: Measure the space between the joists to determine the required width and length of the insulation.
Cutting: Use a sharp knife to cut the insulation to the required size, using the perforations as a guide where appropriate.
Installation: Place the insulation between the joists, ensuring it fits snugly without being compressed. For a good fit, aim to cover any gaps. Ensure that the insulation is installed at the ceiling level.
Compatibility: Knauf Loft Roll 44 is compatible with most common building materials and is suitable for use in both new and existing buildings. Make sure the structure is sound and free of damp.
Care: Avoid compressing the insulation as it can reduce its thermal performance. Keep it dry to maintain its effectiveness. In case of any damage, replace the affected area.
