FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for long-distance running?
While they offer excellent cushioning, they are primarily engineered for lifestyle and everyday athletic use rather than professional long-distance running.
Can I put these trainers in the washing machine?
No, machine washing can damage the adhesive and the special iridescent finish. Always hand clean with a damp cloth.
What is the primary material of the upper?
The upper is constructed from high-quality technical nylon mesh for durability and breathability.
How should I choose the right size?
The trainers follow standard UK adult sizing. It is recommended to choose your usual athletic footwear size.
Does the iridescent finish fade over time?
Like any finish, it can dull with extreme abrasion, but with proper care and regular cleaning, the visual effect will remain vibrant for a long duration.
Troubleshooting
Creasing in the iridescent finish
Avoid bending the shoe excessively and ensure the size is correct to prevent the material from folding under pressure.
Difficulty keeping laces tied
Use a double knot or replace the flat laces with textured round laces if you require a more aggressive grip.
Mesh becoming dirty
Use a specialized sneaker cleaning foam and a very soft brush, dabbing gently rather than scrubbing.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Excellent energy return from the Infinity Wave midsole
- Highly breathable nylon mesh upper prevents overheating
- Eye-catching iridescent finish stands out in casual settings
- Padded heel and tongue provide immediate step-in comfort
Cons
- Iridescent finish may show scuffs or dirt more easily than matte materials
- Nylon material requires gentle care to avoid snagging
- Primarily designed for lifestyle/casual performance rather than high-intensity marathon running
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Mizuno Infinity Wave trainers last, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush or a damp, lint-free cloth to gently remove surface dust from the technical mesh. Avoid harsh detergents which may damage the iridescent coating.
- Drying: Air dry the shoes away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as excessive heat can deform the synthetic materials.
- Compatibility: These trainers feature a standard fit suitable for UK adult sizing. If you wear custom orthotics, the factory insole is removable to accommodate your specific arch support needs.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place and use a shoe tree or stuffed paper to maintain the silhouette when not in use.
