Setup, Compatibility & Care
To get the most out of your Berghaus 24/7 Backpack, follow these guidelines.
Setup & Adjustment
- Load Evenly: Distribute weight inside the main compartment to prevent strain and maintain balance.
- Adjust Shoulder Straps: Loosen all straps, put on the backpack, then tighten the padded shoulder straps until the pack sits comfortably and snugly on your back.
- Secure Chest Strap: Fasten the height-adjustable chest strap across your sternum. Move it up or down to find the most comfortable position that doesn't restrict breathing, then tighten to stabilize the load.
- Utilize External Points: If carrying walking poles, secure them through the designated attachment points. Ensure they are stable and do not interfere with your movement.
- Hydration System Integration: If using a hydration bladder, fill it and slide it into the compatible sleeve (if present) or main compartment. Route the drinking tube through the designated port for easy access.
Compatibility
- Hydration Systems: Compatible with most standard hydration bladders. Ensure the bladder size fits within the backpack's dimensions.
- Walking Poles: Designed to accommodate standard walking or trekking poles.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: For general cleaning, wipe the backpack with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or use harsh detergents or bleach, as this can damage the Nylon fabric and coatings.
- Drying: Air dry the backpack completely in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Ensure all compartments are open to prevent mildew.
- Storage: Store the backpack in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent material degradation.
- Zipper Care: Keep zippers clean of dirt and debris. Periodically apply a zipper lubricant if they become stiff.
- Stain Removal: For stubborn stains, use a soft brush and a specialized fabric cleaner designed for synthetic materials, testing in an inconspicuous area first.
