Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Hoka Challenger 8 GTX, follow these guidelines:
- Break-in Period: While these shoes feel comfortable out of the box, wear them for short walks before committing to long, strenuous hikes to ensure the fit works with your specific foot arch.
- Cleaning: Remove loose mud with a soft brush after your hike. Use lukewarm water and a mild soap if necessary. Avoid using a washing machine, as high heat and heavy agitation can damage the waterproof membrane and adhesive bonds.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes at room temperature. Never place them near direct heat sources like radiators or fireplaces, as intense heat can warp the cushioning foam and compromise the GORE-TEX integrity.
- Storage: Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use to prevent material degradation.
