Setup, Compatibility & Care
Ensuring proper installation, using compatible cookware, and maintaining your hob correctly will maximize its lifespan and performance.
Setup & Installation
- Professional Installation: This induction hob is designed for hard-wired power connection. This means it requires a direct connection to your home's electrical system, not a standard plug. Always arrange for a qualified electrician to install the appliance to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations.
- Dimensions: The product dimensions are 48 x 800 x 520 mm (Height x Width x Depth). Ensure your countertop cutout is appropriately sized for these dimensions. Accurate measurement is critical for a flush and safe fit.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around and beneath the hob as specified in the installation manual. Induction hobs generate heat that needs to dissipate effectively.
Compatibility
- Cookware: As an induction hob, it requires induction-compatible cookware. This typically means pots and pans made of ferrous (magnetic) metals like cast iron, stainless steel with a magnetic base, or enameled steel. Test your cookware by placing a magnet on its base; if the magnet sticks, it's compatible.
- Wi-Fi Network: For Wi-Fi Connectivity features, you will need a stable home Wi-Fi network and a compatible smart device with the Samsung SmartThings app installed. Ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong in the kitchen area.
Care & Maintenance
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, allow the hob to cool completely. Wipe the glass surface with a damp cloth and mild dish soap to remove spills and splatters. For stubborn marks, use a non-abrasive hob cleaner specifically designed for induction surfaces.
- Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive sponges, scourers, or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can scratch or damage the glass surface.
- Prevent Scratches: Avoid dragging heavy or rough-bottomed cookware across the hob surface. Lift pots and pans when moving them. Using induction mats can also help protect the surface.
- Control Panel: Gently wipe the touch control panel with a soft, damp cloth. Ensure it is dry before operating to prevent unintended commands.
- Spills: Clean up sugary spills immediately, even if the hob is hot, using a scraper (if available) as they can cause permanent damage to the glass surface if allowed to cool and harden.
