Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Initial Setup
Upon receiving your gilet, carefully remove it from its packaging and dust bag. The down filling may appear compressed. Gently shake and fluff the gilet to help the down expand and regain its loft. Allow it to hang for a few hours before its first wear to ensure maximum insulation.
Compatibility
This gilet is designed as a versatile layering piece. It pairs well over base layers, long-sleeved shirts, or thin sweaters. For colder conditions, it can be comfortably worn under a larger jacket or coat without restricting movement. Its sleek profile ensures it doesn't add unnecessary bulk.
Care Instructions
Proper care is essential to maintain the gilet's performance and longevity, especially its down insulation.
- Read the Label: Always check the care label inside your gilet for specific washing instructions from EA7.
- Spot Cleaning: For small marks, gently spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly and air dry.
- Washing: If machine washing is permitted, use a front-loading washer with a gentle cycle and cold water. Use a specialized down detergent or a mild, non-detergent soap. Avoid fabric softeners.
- Drying: Tumble dry on a low heat setting with a few clean tennis balls or dryer balls. This helps to break up clumps of down and restore loft. Drying can take several hours, and you'll need to periodically remove and fluff the gilet by hand.
- Storage: When not in use, store the gilet in its provided dust bag. For long-term storage, ensure it is clean and completely dry to prevent mildew. Avoid compressing it for extended periods to maintain down loft.
