FAQs

Is this jacket suitable for cold winter weather?

The jacket is lightweight and breathable, making it ideal for hiking on warmer days. For cold winter weather, it serves best as an outer shell layer over insulating mid-layers.

How do I clean the jacket to maintain its waterproofness?

Machine wash cold with a mild detergent, do not bleach, and tumble dry low or hang to dry. Avoid ironing and dry cleaning. Using a technical wash for outdoor gear can help preserve its performance.

What is the primary benefit of the underarm ventilation zips?

The underarm ventilation zips allow you to quickly release excess heat and improve airflow, helping to regulate your body temperature during strenuous activity without having to remove the jacket.

What material is the jacket made from?

The jacket is made from durable polyester.

Can this jacket be used for high-intensity sports like running?

While it offers some breathability and ventilation, it is primarily designed for hiking. For very high-intensity sports, breathability might be a limiting factor, though the ventilation zips can help.

Is the jacket suitable for men?

No, this specific product is designed with a fit tailored for adult females.

Troubleshooting

Jacket is no longer fully waterproof

Ensure the jacket is clean and free of dirt or residue. Reapply a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish following product instructions if necessary. Check and clean any seam tape for damage.

Zippers are stiff or difficult to move

Gently clean the zipper teeth with a damp cloth to remove debris. Apply a silicone-based lubricant or wax specifically designed for zippers.

Jacket feels clammy inside during activity

Open the underarm ventilation zips to increase airflow. Ensure you are wearing appropriate base layers that wick moisture effectively. For very high-output activities, consider removing the jacket during intense bursts if possible.

Color fading

Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods when drying. Follow the washing instructions carefully, using cold water and mild detergent.
