Product Information

Full details

This Homescapes Nirvana throw is ideal for those looking to add a touch of unique color and texture to their living spaces or bedrooms. Its key benefit is providing a cozy, decorative layer made from 100% pure cotton with a unique slub pattern. A minor caveat is that due to the handwoven nature, each throw has unique variations in pattern and shade, which, while charming, means no two are exactly alike.

FAQs

What does 'slub yarn' mean?

Slub yarn is a type of yarn that has thicker, nubby sections interspersed with thinner sections, creating a textured and slightly irregular appearance in the fabric. This adds visual interest and a unique feel to the throw.

Are the tassels durable?

The tassels are handknotted as part of the artisanal finishing process. While designed to be decorative, they should be treated with care to maintain their appearance. Avoid excessive pulling or snagging.

Can I use this throw outdoors?

This throw is designed for indoor use. Exposure to direct sunlight, moisture, and outdoor elements can degrade the cotton fibers and cause colors to fade.

How do I choose the right size?

Consider the piece of furniture it will be used on. The 150cm x 200cm is ideal for a sofa or a single bed. The larger sizes (225cm x 255cm and 255cm x 360cm) are suitable for covering larger sofas or as a full bedspread for double or king-sized beds.

Is this throw hypoallergenic?

As it is made from 100% pure cotton, it is generally considered hypoallergenic. However, individual sensitivities can vary. If you have severe allergies, it's always best to check material properties.

Can I mix and match colors?

Yes, Homescapes suggests mixing and matching colors and sizes to create a more varied and personalized look in your home.

What is the weight of the throw?

The weight can vary slightly depending on the size, but the 100% cotton material provides a substantial feel without being overly heavy. Specific weights are not provided, but it offers a comforting drape.

Troubleshooting

Uneven texture or loose threads

This is a natural characteristic of the handwoven slub yarn and artisanal craftsmanship. Gently tuck in any minor loose threads. Significant unraveling may indicate a defect and should be addressed with customer support.

Color fading after washing

Ensure you are washing in cold water and avoiding harsh detergents or bleach. Always refer to the specific care label for the most accurate instructions.

Shedding of fibers

Initial shedding is common with cotton textiles. A few washes should reduce this. Ensure your washing machine's lint filter is clean.

Throw is not as pictured (color/pattern)

Each throw is unique due to its handwoven nature. Slight variations in color shade and pattern are expected and contribute to the product's charm. If the difference is significant, please contact customer service.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The throw requires no setup; it is ready to use straight out of the packaging. Simply unfold and place it on your desired surface.

Compatibility: This throw is compatible with most home decor styles, from bohemian to modern. It can be used on beds, sofas, armchairs, or even as a decorative wall hanging. It can be mixed and matched with other Homescapes product ranges.

Care Instructions:

  1. Machine Washable: The throw can be machine washed in cold water.
  2. Gentle Cycle: Use a gentle cycle to preserve the integrity of the weave and tassels.
  3. Tumble Dry Low: Tumble dry on a low heat setting.
  4. Avoid Bleaching: Do not use bleach, as it can damage the cotton fibers and affect the color.
  5. Ironing: If necessary, iron on a low setting.
