This guide is for DIY enthusiasts and homeowners seeking a reliable, easy-to-use paint for interior walls and ceilings. The key benefit is its quick-drying, low-odor formula that provides a smooth matt finish with simple water cleanup. A caveat is its primary suitability for interior touch-ups rather than large-scale renovations. Rustins Quick Dry Matt Emulsion Paint is a high-quality, water-borne acrylic emulsion designed for interior use, offering a durable, smooth matt finish. It is available in convenient sizes and classic colors like White and Magnolia.

No, Rustins Quick Dry Matt Emulsion Paint is specifically formulated for interior walls and ceilings only.
Clean brushes and equipment immediately after use with warm water and mild soap.
It dries to a smooth, non-reflective matt finish.
This paint is intended for walls and ceilings. For wood or metal, a different primer and finish would be more appropriate.
The paint is available in 250ml and 500ml sizes.
It is available in White (BS00E55), Magnolia (BS08B15), and Grey.
It is quick drying, allowing for recoating typically within 1-2 hours, though complete drying may take longer depending on conditions.
Stir the paint thoroughly. If still too thick, a small amount of clean water (less than 5%) can be added, but avoid over-thinning.
Ensure paint is applied evenly with consistent brush strokes. Avoid overworking the paint. Apply a second coat if needed once the first is dry.
This is normal for some colours. Apply a second coat after the first has dried completely to achieve a uniform finish.
Ensure application is in a well-ventilated area with appropriate temperature (typically above 10°C). Thick application or high humidity can slow drying.
Setup: Ensure the surface to be painted is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and flaking paint. Apply a suitable primer if necessary, especially on new or previously painted surfaces. Stir the paint thoroughly before application.
Compatibility: This water-borne acrylic emulsion is designed for interior walls and ceilings. It is suitable for use over existing emulsion paints after proper preparation. Always test on an inconspicuous area first if applying over a different type of finish.
Care: Use water and mild soap for cleaning application tools immediately after use. For painted surfaces, clean gently with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners which may damage the matt finish.
