Full details
The Kase Adapter Ring (82 mm) is an essential utility for landscape and architectural photographers who rely on the Kase Armour system. It serves as the primary mounting point for the Kase Armour filter holder and magnetic polarizer, offering a reliable, robust connection for field work. While it is built to last with high-quality aluminium, users should note that this specific version is tailored exclusively for 82mm lens threads, requiring step-up or step-down rings if used with lenses of different diameters.

FAQs
Can I use this on a 77mm lens?
No, this is specifically designed for 82mm threads. You would need an 77mm to 82mm step-up ring to use this adapter on a 77mm lens.
Does this ring allow me to attach my standard screw-on filters?
No, this adapter is intended specifically for the Kase Armour magnetic filter system and the Armour holder.
Is the aluminium finish prone to scratching?
The adapter is made from high-quality, durable aluminium, but like any camera accessory, it should be stored in a padded compartment to avoid cosmetic wear.
Will this cause vignetting on ultra-wide lenses?
Vignetting depends on the focal length and specific lens design. On most standard and telephoto lenses, this adapter maintains a thin profile to minimize vignetting.
Is this adapter compatible with other brands of filter holders?
This adapter is purpose-built for the Kase Armour system and may not provide a secure or functional fit with holders from other manufacturers.
Troubleshooting
Adapter ring is stuck on the lens
Do not force it. Use a rubber filter wrench to apply even pressure to the outer rim of the adapter, or place a thick rubber band around the rim for better grip.
Magnetic filters do not click securely
Check the surface of the adapter ring for debris or metallic dust that might be preventing a flush connection with the magnet.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- High-quality, robust aluminium construction
- Seamless integration with Kase Armour magnetic filters
- Essential as a spare for travel photography kits
- Lightweight design adds minimal bulk to lens setup
Cons
- Restricted to 82mm filter thread size
- Requires separate adapters for lenses of other sizes
- Specific to Kase Armour ecosystem components
Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Installation: Simply screw the Kase Adapter Ring clockwise into the front filter thread of your 82mm lens until finger-tight. Avoid overtightening to ensure easy removal.
- Compatibility: This adapter is compatible with all Kase Armour filter holders and Kase magnetic circular polarizers. It is natively compatible with lenses having an 82mm filter thread.
- Care: Clean the threads periodically with a soft brush to remove dust or grit. If the ring becomes difficult to remove, avoid using metal tools; instead, use a rubber lens filter wrench to gain better leverage without damaging the aluminium surface.
