These obelisks are handmade in our West Sussex factory and can be purchased individually or in a set of three. Each is a solid piece constructed out of sturdy steel, which can either be coated in a hard-wearing black plastic or left raw for a rusty finish. Each obelisk features four internal support rings to provide growing assistance to plants throughout the various stages of their natural life cycle. The strong and robust legs can easily be pushed into the ground for anchorage. The metal garden obelisk has a slender, streamlined frame and an elegant and understated domed top, with a decorative finial embellishment. In a small garden, they can be added to maximize your plant growing space. In a larger space, they can create independent areas of focus or attractive centrepieces. As the plants grow, flourish, and climb around the legs and support rings of the obelisks’ frames, your garden will boast a beautiful vertical display. Measurements: Small: 106cm Tall x 19cm Medium: 140cm Tall x 24cm Large: 168cm Tall x 29cm.

Full details
The Garden Pride Growing Obelisks are handmade steel garden structures designed to support climbing plants and add vertical interest to your garden. Ideal for gardeners looking to maximize space or create focal points, these obelisks offer robust support throughout a plant's growth cycle. A potential consideration is that the raw steel variant will naturally develop a rust patina over time, which may not suit all aesthetic preferences.

FAQs
What are the dimensions of the obelisks?
The obelisks come in three sizes: Small (106cm Tall x 19cm Diameter), Medium (140cm Tall x 24cm Diameter), and Large (168cm Tall x 29cm Diameter).
Can I buy the obelisks individually or in a set?
Yes, they can be purchased individually or in a set of three.
What is the difference between the raw steel and black coated versions?
The raw steel version is made of uncoated steel that will naturally rust over time, developing a patina. The black version is coated with a hard-wearing plastic for a durable finish.
How do I assemble the obelisk?
The obelisks are a single, solid piece and do not require assembly. Simply push the legs into the ground for anchorage.
Will the raw steel rust affect my plants?
The rust formed on the steel is a natural patina and is generally not harmful to plants. It is a stable form of iron oxide.
Can these be used in pots?
Yes, they can be used in large pots. Ensure the pot is stable and deep enough to accommodate the obelisk legs securely.
Are the support rings adjustable?
No, the four internal support rings are fixed within the structure to provide consistent support.
Troubleshooting
Obelisk is unstable after installation.
Ensure the legs are pushed deeply and evenly into firm soil. If the ground is very soft, consider using larger planting pots or a more stable base.
Plant is not growing well on the obelisk.
Check that the plant is receiving adequate sunlight, water, and nutrients. Ensure the plant is suitable for climbing and has been properly trained onto the structure.
Raw steel obelisk is rusting unevenly.
Uneven rusting is natural as the patina develops. If you prefer a more uniform appearance, you can use a wire brush to remove rust and then reapply a sealant (note: this will prevent natural aging).

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Select your desired location in the garden.
Gently push the robust legs of the obelisk into the soil to secure it. Ensure it is firmly planted for stability.
Begin training your plants to grow up and around the structure as they establish.
Compatibility:
Plant Types: Suitable for most climbing plants, including roses, clematis, jasmine, honeysuckle, runner beans, peas, and cucumbers.
Soil Types: Compatible with most garden soils. Ensure the ground is firm enough to support the legs.
Aesthetics: The raw steel finish complements natural, rustic, and traditional garden designs. The black coated version suits modern and formal gardens.
Care:
Raw Steel: This variant is designed to develop a natural rust patina over time. No specific care is required; the rust is a protective layer. Avoid applying oils or sealants if you wish for the natural aging process to occur.
Black Coated Steel: Wipe clean with a damp cloth as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the coating.
General Maintenance: Periodically check the obelisk for stability, especially after strong winds or heavy plant growth. Ensure the legs remain securely in the ground.
