Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
To get the most out of your Nike Phantom GX 2 Elite FG boots, follow these guidelines:
Setup (Breaking-In)
- Initial Wear: Begin by wearing your new boots for shorter periods during light training sessions, not full matches. This allows the materials to soften and mold to the unique shape of your foot, helping to prevent blisters and discomfort.
- Gradual Increase: Gradually increase the duration and intensity of wear over several sessions until the boots feel fully comfortable and responsive.
Compatibility
- Firm Ground (FG) Only: These boots are exclusively designed for firm, natural grass pitches (e.g., dry or slightly damp football fields). Using them on artificial turf (AG), soft ground (SG), or indoor (IC) surfaces can lead to premature wear of the soleplate, reduced performance, and potentially increase the risk of injury. Always ensure the surface matches the boot type.
Care
- Immediate Cleaning: After each use, remove excess mud and dirt from the upper and soleplate using a soft brush or cloth. This prevents dirt from hardening and damaging the materials.
- Wipe Down: Use a damp cloth with mild soap (if necessary) to gently wipe down the entire boot. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Rinse (Soleplate Only): You can carefully rinse the soleplate under a tap to remove stubborn mud, but avoid soaking the entire boot.
- Drying: Air dry your boots naturally at room temperature. Do NOT use direct heat sources like radiators, heaters, or direct sunlight, as this can cause the materials to crack, shrink, or become stiff. Stuff the boots with newspaper to help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your clean, dry boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag or their original box, away from extreme temperatures.
