Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Excavate a trench of appropriate depth and width, ensuring a slight gradient for gravity flow. Lay a bed of clean aggregate at the base of the trench. Position the perforated pipe, ensuring the perforations face downwards or towards the area requiring drainage. Connect pipes using Polypipe's compatible couplers, ensuring a secure fit. Backfill the trench with more aggregate around the pipe, followed by soil. It is recommended to wrap the pipe in geotextile fabric to prevent soil ingress into the perforations.
Compatibility: This 100mm pipe is designed to connect with other Polypipe 100mm land drainage system components, including couplers and inspection chambers. Always verify compatibility before purchase.
Care: Once installed, the system requires minimal direct care. Periodically check connected inspection chambers for silt buildup. If performance degrades, it may indicate a blockage; flushing with water or, in severe cases, excavation for cleaning or replacement might be necessary. Avoid covering the perforations with fine silt or clay during installation to maintain optimal performance.
