Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
Your Belstaff Fieldmaster Jacket arrives ready to wear. Simply put it on and adjust the internal drawstring at the waist to achieve your desired fit. Ensure the neck fastening is secured for maximum warmth and protection.
Compatibility
This jacket is designed to integrate seamlessly with the Belstaff Icon gilet, which can be snapped into the jacket for additional insulation. The Icon gilet is sold separately. Other layering pieces, such as sweaters or base layers, can be comfortably worn underneath due to the jacket's classic cut.
Product Care
Caring for your waxed cotton jacket is crucial for its longevity and performance:
- Re-waxing: To maintain the jacket's water and wind-repellent properties, it is essential to re-wax it periodically. The frequency depends on usage and environmental exposure, but typically once a year or every two years is recommended. Use a high-quality Belstaff wax dressing or a reputable waxed cotton re-proofing product.
- Cleaning: Do NOT machine wash, dry clean, or tumble dry your waxed cotton jacket. This can strip the wax coating and damage the fabric. For general cleaning, wipe down the jacket with a damp cloth and cold water. For stubborn dirt, use a soft brush. Avoid using detergents or hot water.
- Storage: Store the jacket in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat, as this can affect the wax coating. Hang it on a sturdy hanger to maintain its shape.
- Drying: If the jacket gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area. Do not use artificial heat sources.
Proper care ensures your Fieldmaster Jacket remains a functional and stylish staple for years to come.
