Care Instructions
Proper care is crucial to maintain the waterproof, breathable, and windproof performance of your jacket, as well as the quality of the faux fur.
- Check Label: Always refer to the care label inside your jacket for specific instructions.
- Preparation: Before washing, close all zippers and fastenings. Detach the faux fur trim from the hood if possible. If not detachable, protect it during washing (e.g., place a pillowcase over it and tie it shut).
- Washing (Jacket Body):
- Machine wash on a gentle cycle at a low temperature (typically 30°C/86°F).
- Use a technical wash specifically designed for waterproof and breathable fabrics. Avoid conventional detergents, fabric softeners, and bleach, as these can clog the fabric's pores and damage the waterproof coating.
- Wash with similar colors.
- Washing (Faux Fur):
- If detachable, hand wash gently in cool water with a mild detergent, or spot clean as needed.
- If not detachable, follow the jacket washing instructions but be extra gentle, and consider placing the hooded part in a mesh laundry bag.
- Drying:
- Do not tumble dry the jacket or faux fur. High heat can damage the waterproof membrane and the faux fur fibers.
- Hang the jacket to air dry away from direct sunlight or heat. Allow plenty of time for it to dry completely.
- Gently shake and fluff the faux fur periodically as it dries to restore its loft.
- Re-Waterproofing: Over time, the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish on the jacket's outer fabric may wear off. You can restore this by applying a DWR spray or wash-in treatment designed for outdoor apparel, following the product's instructions.
