Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup (Break-in Period)
Like many quality leather footwear, your Birkenstock Tokio Clogs may require a short break-in period. During this time, the footbed will mold to your child's unique foot shape, and the leather upper will soften. Encourage your child to wear them for shorter durations initially, gradually increasing wear time until they feel completely comfortable.
Compatibility
These unisex clogs are designed for kids and offer broad compatibility with various casual outfits. Their blue leather finish makes them a versatile addition to any wardrobe, easily pairing with jeans, shorts, skirts, or dresses. They are suitable for general daily wear, not specialized sports or heavy-duty industrial environments.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care is essential to maintain the appearance and longevity of your Birkenstock Tokio Clogs:
- Nubuck Leather Upper:
- Gently brush with a Nubuck brush to remove loose dirt and restore the nap.
- For tougher spots, use a specialized Nubuck cleaner or a damp cloth with mild soap, dabbing gently and allowing to air dry away from direct heat.
- Consider applying a water and stain repellent spray suitable for Nubuck leather to protect against spills and moisture.
- Suede Insole:
- Periodically brush the suede insole with a suede brush to lift dirt and refresh the nap.
- For sweat marks or odors, use a small amount of specialized suede cleaner or a solution of water and white vinegar, applied sparingly with a cloth. Allow to air dry completely.
- Avoid excessive wetting of the insole.
- General Care:
- Store clogs in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or extreme heat, which can dry out and damage the leather.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to water. If they get wet, allow them to air dry naturally.
- Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
