FAQs
What is Nike Shox technology?
Nike Shox technology features flexible columns and moderator plates underfoot that compress and regain shape with each step, providing ultra-cushioned comfort and responsive shock absorption.
Are these shoes suitable for running?
While the Nike Shox TL offers excellent cushioning for everyday wear and walking, it is primarily designed for comfort and stability in casual and light athletic activities rather than high-performance running.
How do I clean my Nike Shox TL shoes?
For the textile and synthetic upper, gently wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Clean the rubber outsole with a brush and water. Always air dry the shoes completely away from direct heat.
What materials are these shoes made from?
The Nike Shox TL features a textile and synthetic upper with glossy TPU overlays, a synthetic sole with Shox columns, a TPU plate, and a solid rubber outsole.
What is the benefit of the TPU plate?
The TPU plate provides enhanced stability and support to your foot, contributing to a confident and stable stride during various activities.
How do I ensure a good fit?
Use the lace-up fastening to adjust the fit. Ensure it's snug but not overly tight, allowing for natural foot movement. If possible, try them on at the end of the day when your feet are slightly swollen to ensure comfort.
Are other colors or sizes available for the Nike Shox TL?
Yes, while this guide focuses on the black adult female UK 6 model, the Nike Shox TL series is available in various colors (e.g., silver, white) and sizes for different genders.
Troubleshooting
Shoes feel too loose or too tight.
Adjust the lace-up fastening. Ensure laces are evenly tensioned across the top of your foot for a secure yet comfortable fit. Re-tie if necessary.
Reduced cushioning feel over time.
This is typically due to natural wear and tear. Ensure the Shox columns are clean and free of debris. Regular cleaning and proper storage can help prolong their life, but over time, all cushioning materials will show wear.
Squeaking sound when walking.
Check the outsole for any small pebbles or debris lodged in the grooves. If the sound persists and seems to come from within the shoe, try sprinkling a small amount of baby powder under the insole to reduce friction.
Unpleasant odor from shoes.
Ensure shoes are fully aired out after each use. Remove insoles occasionally to air dry. Using shoe deodorizers or baking soda sachets inside the shoes overnight can help absorb moisture and odors.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Nike Shox TL trainers are ready to wear right out of the box. Simply slip them on and use the lace-up fastening to achieve a secure and comfortable fit. Adjust the laces to ensure your foot is snug but not overly tight, allowing for natural movement.
Compatibility
These trainers are designed for adults and are available in various sizes to accommodate different foot dimensions. The specific model is sized for female adults (UK 6), but other variants exist for different genders and sizes. They are versatile enough for general wear, light athletic activities, and casual urban exploration.
Care
To maintain the appearance and longevity of your Nike Shox TL trainers, follow these care guidelines:
- Cleaning the Upper: For the textile and synthetic upper, gently wipe away dirt and grime with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes that could damage the material or glossy TPU overlays.
- Cleaning the Outsole: The solid rubber outsole can be cleaned with a brush and water to remove any debris or mud, ensuring continued reliable grip.
- Drying: Allow the shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can deform the materials.
- Storage: Store your trainers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Stuffing them with crumpled paper can help maintain their shape.
- Shox Pillars: Periodically inspect the Shox columns for any debris or damage. Gently clean between the columns with a soft brush if needed.
