Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Sizing: Ensure the boots are the correct UK size 1 for your child to allow for comfortable movement and potential socks.
- Putting On: Guide your child's foot into the boot. The spacious opening makes this process straightforward.
- Adjusting: Use the side buckle to gently adjust the fit around the calf, ensuring it's snug but not too tight. This helps keep the boot secure during activity.
Compatibility
These wellington boots are designed for general outdoor use in wet or muddy conditions. They pair well with waterproof jackets and trousers for full rain protection. While suitable for many terrains, they are not specialized hiking boots for extreme mountain climbing.
Care
To ensure the longevity and appearance of your Hunter Wellington Boots:
- Cleaning: After use, wipe the boots clean with a damp cloth or rinse with cold water to remove dirt and mud. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight or artificial heat sources (like radiators), as this can cause the rubber to crack or fade.
- Storage: Store the boots upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not fold or crease the rubber, as this can lead to permanent marks or damage.
- Maintenance: Occasionally, a silicone boot spray can be used to keep the rubber supple and prevent blooming (white powdery residue), though this product is not included.
