Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your ASICS Gel-Venture 6 Trainers is straightforward:
- Lacing: Unlace the trainers sufficiently to easily slide your foot in. Ensure your heel is comfortably seated at the back of the shoe.
- Adjusting the Fit: Begin tightening the laces from the bottom (closest to the toes) upwards, ensuring even tension across the foot. Avoid over-tightening, which can cause discomfort, or leaving them too loose, which can lead to instability.
- Knotting: Secure the laces with a double knot for reliability during activity. The padded ankle collar should feel snug but not restrictive.
Compatibility
- Surfaces: Primarily designed for paved roads, sidewalks, and light, even trails. Less suitable for highly technical or muddy off-road conditions.
- Activities: Ideal for casual walking, light jogging, daily wear, and gym use. Not recommended for competitive running or heavy-duty outdoor activities.
- Foot Type: The neutral cushioning system is generally suitable for a wide range of foot types, though individuals with specific pronation needs may prefer specialized support.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your trainers:
- Cleaning the Upper: For the textile and synthetic upper, gently wipe away dirt and grime with a damp cloth and mild soap (non-detergent). Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes.
- Cleaning the Outsole: Use a brush (like an old toothbrush) to remove dirt, mud, or debris from the rubber outsole.
- Drying: Always allow trainers to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can damage materials. You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, remove insoles and air them out. Shoe deodorizers or baking soda can also be used inside the trainers.
