Its self-priming and self-undercoating formula effortlessly adheres to a multitude of surfaces, including wood, melamine, plastics, MDF, masonry, tiles, plaster, metals, and more. Achieve a flawless, non-yellowing Anthracite Matt finish in a convenient 5L size. The paint is known for its outstanding flexibility, resisting flaking or peeling, and can be used over most existing paints and varnishes. It is non-yellowing and cleans up with water. It is suitable for a wide range of materials such as plastic, wood, metal (including radiators), plastic-coated steel, cladding, brick, masonry, fibreglass, terracotta, stone, plaster, MDF, tiles, melamine, plastics, UPVC, galvanised steel, aluminium, and copper. No primer or undercoat is needed for most surfaces, saving time and money. The paint has low VOC content, is microporous and breathable, alkali resistant, and can withstand heat up to 80ºC. It is quick-drying, non-flammable, and recoatable after 4 hours. While it can be used over most old paints, a primer is recommended for mild steel and a stain block for surfaces where staining might occur.
The Bedec Anthracite Matt Multi Surface Paint is an ideal solution for DIY enthusiasts and professionals seeking a versatile, high-performance finish for interior and exterior projects. Its self-priming, water-based formula eliminates the need for separate undercoats, saving significant time and labor across a wide range of materials from wood and metal to tiles and PVC; however, users should note that while it is highly versatile, surfaces prone to heavy tannin or stain bleeding may still require a dedicated stain-blocking primer before application.

Troubleshooting
Paint not sticking to surface
Ensure the surface was cleaned of grease and degreased properly; if the surface is very glossy, sand it lightly before re-application.
Stains bleeding through the paint
The substrate likely has tannins or oils; apply a dedicated stain-blocking primer before applying the Bedec finish.
Brush marks visible after drying
Thin the paint slightly with water if necessary and use a high-quality synthetic brush, or use a foam roller for a smoother finish.
Pros and Cons
Pros
No separate primer or undercoat required for most substrates
Excellent adhesion to difficult surfaces like melamine, plastics, and tiles
Fast drying and recoatable in just 4 hours
Durable finish that won't turn yellow over time
Safe to use on heated surfaces like radiators
Cons
Not intended for surfaces prone to severe staining without a dedicated block
Steel substrates still require a specialized anti-corrosion primer for best results
Large 5L size may be excessive for smaller touch-up projects
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose paint, dust, or grease before application. While the paint is self-priming, light abrasion (sanding) is always recommended to improve mechanical key on glossy or non-porous surfaces. Use a synthetic brush or medium-pile roller for optimal coverage. The paint is recoatable after 4 hours, though you should avoid washing the surface until it has fully cured. Store the container in a cool, frost-free location to maintain shelf life. For specific metals like mild steel, apply a suitable rust-inhibiting primer first to ensure maximum long-term protection.
