The Dare 2b Switch Up III Jacket in Black is designed for adult females seeking versatile outerwear for various adventures, from city commutes to challenging mountain trails. Its key benefit is providing robust waterproof, breathable, and windproof protection without compromising freedom of movement, thanks to advanced ARED 20/30 fabric and AEP KINEMATICS technology. A potential caveat for some users might be the specific fit or features, which are optimized for active outdoor use.

ARED 20/30 refers to the fabric's performance rating: 20,000mm hydrostatic head for waterproofing and 30,000g/m²/24hr for breathability. This indicates a high level of protection against water and good vapor permeability.
The jacket provides excellent windproof protection, which helps retain body heat. However, for very cold conditions, it is designed to be layered over insulating mid-layers (like fleece or down) rather than providing significant built-in insulation itself.
No, it is recommended to use a liquid technical wash specifically designed for waterproof and breathable outerwear. Regular detergents, powders, bleach, and fabric softeners can damage the fabric's membrane and DWR coating.
After washing and drying the jacket, you can reactivate the DWR by tumble drying on a low heat setting with clean tennis balls. For a more thorough re-application, use a spray-on or wash-in DWR treatment as per the product instructions.
AEP KINEMATICS is an ergonomic design system that uses articulation at critical movement points of the body. This ensures the garment moves with you, enhancing agility, power, and overall comfort during active pursuits.
No, this jacket complies with PFAS standards, meaning it does not use per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances that are subject to regulations.
The wired peak helps to keep the hood's shape and direct water away from your face, improving visibility and comfort in rainy or windy conditions.
Clean the jacket thoroughly following care instructions. Then, tumble dry on a low heat with tennis balls to reactivate the Durable Water-Repellent (DWR) finish. If necessary, apply a suitable re-proofing spray or wash-in treatment.
Ensure the jacket is clean, as dirt and oils can clog the membrane pores. Wash using a dedicated technical wash and ensure a double rinse cycle. Check that any internal pockets are clear of debris.
Gently clean the zipper teeth with a soft brush and water. Lubricate the zipper with a silicone-based zipper lubricant or a graphite pencil (rubbing the lead along the teeth). Ensure the fabric is not caught in the zipper.
Check that the drawcords are correctly threaded through the toggles. Ensure the toggles are tightened firmly. If the drawcords are frayed, they may need to be trimmed or replaced.
Setup: This jacket requires no assembly. Ensure all zippers are functional and the hood is attached or detached as desired.
Compatibility: Designed for general outdoor activity and everyday wear. It can be layered over base layers and mid-layers for added warmth depending on the temperature.
