Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper handling and storage are crucial for maximizing the life and safety of your Duracell AAA batteries.
Setup
- Identify Polarity: Locate the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on both the battery and the device's battery compartment.
- Insert Correctly: Align the battery according to the polarity markings. The positive (+) end typically has a small bump, and the negative (-) end is flat.
- Secure Closure: Ensure the device's battery compartment cover is securely closed.
Compatibility
- Device Requirement: Compatible with any electronic device that specifically requires AAA-sized alkaline batteries.
- Voltage: These are 1.5V alkaline batteries. Do not use them in devices requiring different voltage types or rechargeable batteries unless explicitly stated by the device manufacturer.
Care & Storage
- Storage Conditions: Store batteries in a cool, dry place at room temperature (preferably between 10°C and 25°C or 50°F and 77°F) to preserve their shelf life. Avoid extreme temperatures.
- Keep Dry: Moisture can damage batteries and lead to corrosion or short-circuits.
- Keep Separated: Store batteries in their original packaging or a dedicated battery organizer to prevent contact with metal objects (like keys or coins), which can cause short-circuits.
- Avoid Mixing: Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different brands or types (e.g., alkaline with carbon-zinc). This can lead to leakage or reduced performance.
- Remove from Idle Devices: If a device will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent potential leakage and damage to the device.
- Disposal: Dispose of depleted batteries according to local regulations. Many communities have recycling programs for batteries. Do not dispose of them in regular household trash or fire.
