Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Achieving the Optimal Fit
- Lacing: Begin by unlacing the shoes completely. Insert your foot, ensuring your heel is comfortably seated at the back. Pull the laces from the bottom eyelets upwards, tightening them gradually. The goal is a snug, secure fit across the midfoot without being overly restrictive or causing pressure points. Experiment with different lacing patterns to find what works best for your foot shape and playing style. Some players prefer a looser fit around the toe box for more wiggle room, while others prefer consistent tightness.
- Break-In: Like most performance footwear, the Giannis Immortality 4 may require a short break-in period. Wear them for light activities or short practice sessions before full-intensity games to allow the materials to mold to your foot.
Compatibility: Court Surfaces
These shoes are primarily designed for indoor basketball courts, where their advanced traction pattern can perform optimally. While they can be used on outdoor courts occasionally, frequent outdoor play may accelerate wear on the outsole due to abrasive surfaces. For optimal longevity and performance, stick to indoor wooden or synthetic courts.
Care: Maintaining Your Shoes
- Cleaning: After use, wipe down the outsole with a damp cloth to remove dust and debris, which helps maintain traction. For the upper, use a soft brush or cloth with mild soap and water to gently clean any dirt. Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing, as these can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight or artificial heat sources, as they can cause materials to shrink or warp.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using shoe trees to help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, remove the insoles and air them out. You can also use shoe deodorizers or sprinkle baking soda inside the shoes overnight.
