The Caravaggio is a Scandinavian design classic and a best seller, known for its delicate lines that create a beautiful silhouette suitable for most rooms. It works well hung in pairs or as a row of three over a kitchen island, adding style without dominating the space. Available in 5 sizes, it's easy to get the scale just right. The solid shade concentrates light downwards for strong illumination, while the open top allows light to gently spill upwards, providing ambient light on the ceiling. Its elongated shape ensures the bulb is tucked within the shade, preventing glare. Danish designer Cecilie Manz aimed to create products that are simple and beautiful, incorporating modern international elements into the Scandinavian tradition. The Caravaggio pendant lamp is ideal for ambient and area lighting, such as illuminating a dining table or counter, and can also serve as a main light source. Cecilie Manz, who founded her company after studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, draws her designs on paper and shapes her objects in her studio. Her work reflects a blend of simplicity and a modern, international aspect. Manz has received accolades such as the Berlin Art Prize (2008) and the Bruno Mathsson Prize (2009), with some of her pieces featured in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Design Museum Danmark. Fritz Hansen, founded in 1885, has built a reputation for high-quality products and collaborations with renowned designers since its inception. The company, largely owned by Skandinavisk Holding since 1979, has been characterized by its high-quality plywood furniture since the 1930s, with notable contributions from designers like Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner, and Verner Panton.
