Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your jacket maintains its performance characteristics, follow these guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wash in a cool setting using a specialized detergent for waterproof garments. Avoid biological detergents or fabric softeners, as these can strip the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating.
- Drying: Air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators. Tumble drying is generally discouraged unless directed by the care label to avoid damaging the waterproof membrane.
- Re-proofing: If you notice water no longer 'beads' on the surface of the fabric, apply a wash-in or spray-on re-proofer to restore the waterproof finish.
- Storage: Hang the jacket on a sturdy hanger in a dry, ventilated space when not in use. Avoid storing it compressed in a stuff sack for long periods to maintain the integrity of the insulation.
