Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your Origins Buddy Rug is straightforward:
- Unpack: Carefully remove the rug from its packaging.
- Unroll: Lay the rug flat in your desired location. It may take a few hours for any creases from packaging to settle completely. You can speed this up by reverse-rolling the rug for a short period.
- Placement: Ensure the floor surface is clean and dry before placing the rug to maximize the effectiveness of the non-slip backing.
Compatibility
The Origins Buddy Rug is highly versatile and compatible with a wide range of indoor settings:
- Locations: Suitable for almost any room in your home, including living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, hallways, playrooms, and home offices.
- Flooring: Works well on various floor types, including hardwood, laminate, tile, and carpet (though on carpet, the non-slip feature will be less pronounced).
- Style: Available in a variety of colors and sizes, allowing you to choose the best fit for your existing decor and space requirements.
Care
Caring for your Buddy Rug is simple, ensuring its longevity and appearance:
- Regular Vacuuming: Vacuum regularly, preferably with a suction-only vacuum or with the beater bar on a high setting to avoid damaging the pile.
- Spot Cleaning: For spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. For more stubborn spots, use a mild rug cleaner designed for polypropylene.
- Machine Washing: For a thorough clean, the rug is machine washable at 40C. Use a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Do not bleach. Air dry or tumble dry on a low heat setting. Ensure the rug is completely dry before placing it back on the floor to prevent mould.
- Stain Treatment: Act quickly on stains. Many common stains are easily removed with prompt action and machine washing. Pre-treat specific stains with an appropriate stain remover before washing if necessary.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: While colour fast and fade resistant, prolonged exposure to direct, intense sunlight can eventually cause colors to dull. Rotate the rug periodically or use window coverings to protect it.
