FAQs

Can this trim be used with other brands of cladding?

While it may fit other brands, it is specifically designed for the dimensions of Ecoscape cladding profiles.

Does the midnight finish fade over time?

The composite material is UV-stabilized to minimize color fading, though some slight natural weathering is normal.

What is the best way to cut the trim?

A miter saw with a fine-tooth blade for plastic or composite materials provides the cleanest cut.

Is this trim suitable for commercial use?

Yes, its durable composite construction is suitable for both residential and light commercial exterior projects.

Do I need to prime or paint the trim?

No, the trim is finished in the midnight color during manufacturing and does not require painting.

Troubleshooting

Trim does not fit flush against the wall

Check the wall substrate for unevenness and use shims behind the trim if necessary to create a level surface.

Visible gaps at corners

Ensure that your miter cuts are precise at 45-degree angles; consider using a touch-up kit or matching silicone to bridge tiny gaps.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Provides a clean, professional aesthetic for cladding projects
Easy to install as a framing or edging component
Matches Ecoscape midnight composite cladding perfectly
Weather-resistant material for long-term outdoor durability

Cons

Requires precise mitering for corner installations
Non-flexible material requires accurate measurements
Length can be difficult to transport in smaller vehicles

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation requires standard carpentry tools, including a miter saw for clean angle cuts and exterior-grade screws. Ensure that your framing is level before attaching the trim to ensure a straight line. For compatibility, this trim is specifically designed to work with Ecoscape cladding profiles; ensure your board thickness aligns with the channel depth. Maintenance is minimal: simply wipe the trim down with a soft cloth and mild soapy water during your seasonal cleaning of the cladding system to maintain the midnight color depth.
