Setup, Compatibility & Care
To achieve optimal performance, ensure you select a knot appropriate for high-strength braid, such as the FG knot or a well-tied Albright knot, to maintain maximum breaking strain. When spooling or connecting, always wet the braid before pulling knots tight to prevent friction burns that can weaken the fibers.
Regarding care, avoid dragging the line over extremely jagged, sharp metallic edges unnecessarily, as even the toughest braids have limits. After fishing in silty or sandy conditions, store your spools out of direct sunlight in a dry, cool place to preserve the structural integrity of the braiding. Periodically inspect the length of the leader for any signs of fraying after a capture, especially if it has been dragged through heavy snags.
