Setup, Compatibility & Care
First Use & Setup
Your Nike Phantom Luna 2 Academy MG boots are ready to wear right out of the box. Before your first session:
- Lace Up: Fully unlace the boots and then re-lace them, ensuring even tension across your foot. This helps create a personalized and secure fit.
- Break-in Period: It's recommended to wear your new boots for a few lighter training sessions or short periods before a full match. This allows the material to soften and adapt to the unique shape of your foot, minimizing discomfort.
Compatibility
These boots are explicitly designed with a Multi-Ground (MG) soleplate, making them suitable for:
- Natural Grass (Firm Ground): Ideal for drier natural grass pitches.
- Artificial Grass (FG/AG): Excellent for various types of artificial turf.
They are not recommended for extremely soft, muddy natural grass (where Soft Ground or SG studs would be needed) or very hard, abrasive indoor courts.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care extends the lifespan and maintains the performance of your boots:
- Clean After Each Use: After every session, wipe down your boots with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. For stubborn mud, use a soft brush.
- Remove Insole: If possible, remove the insoles to allow for better air circulation and faster drying.
- Air Dry: Always air dry your boots at room temperature. Never use direct heat (like a radiator or hairdryer), as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Avoid Submerging: Do not machine wash or fully submerge your boots in water, as this can degrade the materials.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using boot trees or crumpled newspaper inside to help them retain their shape.
- Inspect Regularly: Periodically check for any signs of wear, especially on the soleplate and stitching, to address issues before they worsen.
